Beyond Tū Kahika

Successful completion of the University of Otago Foundation Year to the required standard guarantees you admission to the University of Otago Health Sciences First Year (HSFY) programme.
   
On the successful completion of HSFY, you may apply to the professional programmes of:

1. Physiotherapy
2. Pharmacy
3. Medicine
4. Medical laboratory science
5. Dentistry 

Entry to these professional programmes is competitive and is based on the grades achieved in Health Sciences First Year.
 

On successful completion of Tū Kahika, you may also apply for direct admission to:

1. Dental technology
2. Medical radiation therapy
3. Oral health

or to the Otago Polytechnic for: 

1. Nursing
2. Midwifery
3. Occupational therapy

or you may wish to go on to study other health related subjects, for example:

1. Psychology
2. Nutrition leading to Dietetics
3. Medical sciences
4. Biomedical science
