  The Application Process

Please submit a Tū Kahika Application form and an online Accommodation Application no later than 30 September 2011

  1. Where possible, you must supply a verified copy of your academic record: Record of Learning
  2. A handwritten supporting statement of no more than 250 words describing your interest in pursuing a career in health.
  3. Iwi affiliation/whakapapa
  4. A referee's name and their written confidential comment relating to your study record, involvement with the Māori community and your commitment and suitability to tertiary education. This is to be sent separately to the Health Sciences office (see the application form for details).

Students will be advised whether they have been granted an interview for Tū Kahika in the first week of October 2011. Interviewers will meet with you and your whānau in your home region and provide you the opportunity to learn more about the Tū Khahika.

Those students who are selected for the programme will be advised as soon as possible following their interviews.

Please note: All applicants for Tū Kahika are required to submit an online Application for Accommodation.

This application must be completed at the same time as the Tū Kahika application.

If you are still at school or left within the last two years, please complete page 1 of the Confidential School Reference and give it to your School Principal or Dean for completion.
