In 1988 a major review of the administration
of the University of Otago was undertaken. The
new management structure took effect from 1 February
1989. The
nine Faculties of the University were reorganised
into four Academic Divisions, each headed by
an Pro Vice-Chancellor with responsibilities
for the
overall management of the Division, including
the allocation of resources.
The Division internal structure
was again reorganised in 2001 and now consists
of the following schools:
The staff of the Otago School of Medical
Sciences, the Dunedin School
of Medicine, and the Christchurch
and Wellington Schools of Medicine & Health
Sciences make up the Faculty of
Medicine.
